Babel Enterprise

Commercial Version

Babel Enterprise has a commercial version, which includes some features that are not shipped with the Open Source version.

  • Third parties integration with collectors

The server-collector is the Babel Enterprise's component which process XML data files generated by the collector-agents
  • Snort Collector: It measures the risk using the data stored in the SNORT database. These data are shown in Babel's console with its CVE and adding risk to the policy they belong to.
  • Nessus Collector: Nessus is a proprietary comprehensive vulnerability scanning software. It is the world-leader in active scanners, featuring high speed discovery, configuration auditing, asset profiling, sensitive data discovery and vulnerability analysis of your security posture. Nessus scanners can be distributed throughout an entire enterprise, inside DMZs, and across physically separate networks. Nessus collector is in charge of process all the .nbe nessus files and convert it to a XML for Babel Enterprise. After this change, Babel will add the risk per machine to it's database and will show it in the webconsole, classified by machine/IP
  • PandoraFMS Collector: Using the PandoraFMS collector, it is possible to add data coming from PandoraFMS, being able, then, to correlate monitoring data with security one.
  • RSA EnVision Collector: ArticaST, as a partner of RSA EnVision (with certified RSA EnVision engineers) has developed a collector to add RSA EnVision data to Babel Enterprise. RSA EnVision is a RSA solution to correlate logs and security events coming from different systems, these data can be exported to Babel and shown in its webconsole in order to add risk (if there is any) to that systems in Babel.
  • Splunk Collector: Splunk is an OpenSource event correlation tool which allows to correlate data from different systems. It is possible with Splunk to export these data to .csv, then create the .bem files (for Babel Enterprise) in order to include these data to Babel Enterprise database.
  • Inventory

Babel Enterprise in its commercial versions is able to gather information to create an inventory: systems, tools, hardware, patches... There is no need to install anything in the machines where the information wants to be gathered from, Babel does everything remotely all done through Babel's webconsole, thus, as opposed to other applications, Babel is a non-intrusive one.
This way, you can have a centralized list with all the information in your systems, all via Web and updated periodically (how often the information is updated is customizable, and all of them can be different depending on the machine).
Nowadays it is possible to get an inventory of:

  • Installed patches
  • Installed software
  • Installed CPU(s)
  • System's users.
  • System's process.
  • System's services.
  • Installed network cards.
  • Installed Hard Disks.
  • RAM installed in the system.
  • Video Cards installed in the system.
